ENTRY-LEVEL ATTORNEYS
Six (6) Divisions are hiring entry-level attorneys, Assistant Corporation Counsel I, II, III: Collection Ownership and Administrative Litigation Division, Building and License Enforcement, Legal Information, Investigations & Prosecutions, Aviation, Environmental, Regulatory and Contracts Division in both the Transactional/Contracts and Litigation/Regulatory capacities, Administration Public Safety Reform Division, Affirmative Litigation. Some minimum requirements for these positions are:
Graduation from an American Bar Association accredited law school with a Juris Doctor degree.
Admission to the Illinois Bar (or eligible for admission on motion to the Illinois Bar pursuant to Illinois Supreme Court Rule 705).
MID-LEVEL ATTORNEY
Five (5) Divisions are hiring Federal Civil Rights Litigation, Employment Litigation, Appeals, Constitutional & Commercial Litigation, Torts. Some minimum requirements for these positions are:
Experience in state or federal court and specific experience as indicated
The ability to take initiative and manage workflow and deadlines, as demonstrated by past positions and achievements
SUPERVISOR-LEVEL ATTORNEYS
Three (3) Divisions are hiring Supervisor-level attorneys, Assistant Corporation Counsel Supervisor: Aviation, Environmental, Regulatory and Contracts Division, Federal Civil Rights Litigation, Employment Litigation. Some minimum requirements for these positions are:
5-6 years minimum experience as a licensed attorney
SENIOR-LEVEL ATTORNEYS
Two (2) Divisions are hiring Chief Assistant Corporation Counsel attorneys: Aviation, Environmental, Regulatory and Contracts Division, Torts. Some minimum requirements for these positions are:
8-10 years of experience as a licensed attorney (of which 2-3 years are in a supervisory role or other management capacity) (7 jury trials)
